What to expect…
The fun starts from the Way To Battle HQ in Historic Downtown Canal Winchester beside Square Canvas!
You and your family or team (or dogs!) will begin your journey through 8 different stops that feature the inspiring stories of warriors just like us with an additional “Brady’s Bonus” at the end.
The two-mile walk will take you through many meaningful stops throughout historic downtown Canal Winchester before finishing back at Way to Battle’s HQ where you can enter to win one of our incredible raffle baskets.
We will be hosting a Finishers’ Block Party with our friends at Square Canvas! There, you will be able to paint and plant flower pots for the special mom in your life, grab some amazing Lemonade from Lue’s Lemonade stand, buy some of the Martin kids’ favorite battle treats from Fantasy Cupcake, play any of the fun yard games, take part in Square Canvas’ Open Splatter Paint, or even throw some axes in Axes and Easels Mobile Axe throwing trailer!
The timing of this event is FLEXIBLE!
You can pick up your map and packet anytime on Saturday, May 3rd starting at 9:30am and complete your walk anytime before the course closes at 4pm to be entered into the basket drawings.
OR you can join us Virtually and all the warrior story videos (and your t-shirt) will be sent to you!
Our Warrior stops…
Our mission is to come alongside those going through hard battles to make sure that no one battles alone. The heart behind this event is to celebrate warriors and their families, or those they serve, by having them share their stories. Our goal is that you leave our event having grown in compassion for what others are walking through or to learn that you aren’t alone as you face the battles either at hand or in front of you. Either way, our prayer is that you will be inspired and encouraged by their stories.
Our walk will take you to several stops within the historic area of Canal Winchester. Each of them mean something important to our family. When you arrive at each stop, you will see a printed poster. You will scan the QR code (you will need a phone or tablet connected to cellular) that will take you to a video of that featured warrior sharing their battle and how the Way to Battle mission has impacted their life.
You will follow your map to each stop on the journey. When you have completed the stops you can head back to Way to Battle’s HQ. There, you will receive a raffle ticket to be placed in one of our many donated baskets for a chance to win! You will also be able to purchase additional raffle tickets at the event to raise even more money for Battle Pups!
